INTRODUCTION

Stasis began as a typical Still Life project. As I began editing the later images, it transformed into something more mysterious, alien. It was almost as if I was documenting another planet or a world yet discovered.

In the end, I found myself back at where I started, still life photography. However, my interpretation of it was altogether different. I found life in something that has none.
SOUVENIR
Examine the details. Intense light. Mid-air.
Frozen in time. Captured for eternity.

APPROACH
Slivers of light on the horizon. Steel reflections throughout.
The closer I get, the more I wonder where I am.

SUSPENDED
A world, frozen, still.
Suspended
on nothing, but air.

The series began here, the first edited photograph.
A mixture of inspirations from high-end fashion to
gritty contemporary art contributed to the work.

ENCOMPASS
The sky, the tree, the water, everything absorbed
by
the creature that never consumed enough. And the
beauty that resulted from this tragedy.

FLEE
In haste, they flee, from an incoming intruder
aware of their hidden lair.

ON THE SURFACE
I could travel to another world to find
the most unimaginable
scene yet discovered. Instead, I found one here,
on Earth.

SECOND
Clones? Twins?
Siblings.

ENCASED
A picture inside of a picture. A world inside of a world.
Perhaps a moon, in a way that I have never seen it
before. A wonder in the palm of my hand.

BIRTH
Tiny. Small. Unaware. Cute and beginning
to grow
into its own. A glimpse of new life.

COCOON
Silence. Interconnected.
Not alone.

PEARLS
Ignoring all else, focusing on the one clear trail
that leads everywhere I need to go.

LAIR
Light fades to shadows and splashes
of
color. The depths of the lair.
